Suzanne Collins

Suzanne Collins is an American novelist/ TV writer. She was born on August 10, 1962 in Hartford Connecticut. She started writing when she took a creative writing class when she attended High School; she then went on to Indiana University and graduated with a double major in Drama and Telecommunication.
She has since worked on many different children's stories and movies; she worked a lot with nickelodeon. She was inspired to start writing children's books when she met James Promos; the famous children’s author whom they talked for a long time; this triggered Collins's passion for writing.
She started writing for teens when she teamed up with
Scholastic and released the first copies of "The Hunger Games", in hardcover in 2008. This book grasped the attention of teens everywhere. She released the second and the third books in 2009 and in 2010; there were about a years wait in-between the books.
There was recently a movie released about the first book in the hunger games series that is labeled "The Hunger Games"
Other works of Collins include the other two books in the Hunger Games series (Catching Fire and The Hunger Games), A 5 book series that she wrote called the "Underground Chronicles" (Gregor the Overlander, Gregor And The Prophecy Of Bane, Gregor And The Curse Of The Warmbloods, Gregor And The Marks Of Secret, Gregor And The Code Of Claw), And finally a children's book that she wrote labeled "When Charlie Mcbutton Lost Power".
